The South Oldham Lions Club (SOLC) and www.southoldhamlions.org (this Website) are committed to the protection of consumer privacy on this Website following a strict set of privacy principles and strict security measures to safeguard online transactions.

• The only information obtained on this Website is that which is supplied voluntarily by Members, Contestants, Customers, Readers, and/or Visitors (hereinafter as Users).   As is anticipated this website may need, request or require personal but in most case public information periodically to provide Users with customized content or to inform them about new features or services, at which time Users will be asked to provide the requested (name, e-mail, home address, etc.) information.  Member information will be displayed in the Member Directory.  All other information will not be shared at any time without the User's permission.

• Currently no Social Security number, driver license number or credit card number will be required on this website.  In the event of a change in policy Users will be notified of the change prior to implementation.

• All statistical aggregate information accumulated about our Users as a group - site activity, usage habits, demographic distribution, number of Users, page viewed statistics, etc - may be shared with partners of this Website, if requested.

Ad Services

SOLC on this website may utilize certain advertising services to display advertising for our Members. These services may place a cookie on the computer for the purposes of ad tracking and content presentation.  This website does not share personally identifiable User information with its advertising services.

Adware

SOLC does not and will not ever install Adware, Spyware or any other software without the obvious permission of the User.  SOLC has no plans to ever use this intrusive method of invasion of our User's privacy.

Member Partners

This Website provides information, communication, fundraising and marketing programs about and for the SOLC and its Members.  By design this Website through affiliations and/or associations was created to benefit our club out Members and the South Oldham community.

When registering via our Guestbook or Email Opt-in List on this website, you will be asked if you would like to subscribe to a weekly newsletter or participate as a Member.  Some of our Members may also have their own newsletters, hold workshops and seminars or schedule other events that may require an e-mail address or other personal information.  The information provided to SOLC will be protected as noted above.  The information provided to Members will be protected as long as it stays on this Website.  Information entered into or provided to a linked website is protected only to the extent of the Privacy Policy of that website.  SOLC accepts no responsibility for the use of this information by these websites.  Users may Opt-out of receiving future mailings.

Children's Guidelines

SOLC on this website does not knowingly conduct any transaction with minors.  All Members must be the age of majority in the state in which they reside.  Member use of this website to advertise and/or market their products and services and their policy regarding the conduct of business with a minor may be dependant on the product or service and the legal definition of minor in their location.  Any minor wanting to do business with one of our Members must contact the Member directly.  All business conducted by an Member with a minor is considered a 3rd party transaction.  SOLC assumes no responsibility or liability for these transactions and is not responsible for any conflicts or claims that may arise from these transactions.

SOLC on this website when discovered will remove all personally identifiable information of any Users under the age of sixteen.  Until discovered this Website may share contact and other information about Users under the age of sixteen on an aggregate basis.

Parents and those permitting minors to use this website should be aware that any information voluntarily given by children in chat sessions, e-mail exchanges, a BBS, forums, etc., may be used by 3rd parties to generate unsolicited mail or other contact with children.  SOLC will strive to ensure that all content on this Website will be of such quality that parental permission such not be required and of a nature that would have minimum appeal to a minor.

Contests, Surveys and Questionnaires

SOLC on this website may conduct online contests, surveys and questionnaire which, may ask Users for personal contact, profile data, and demographic information.  Users may choose to receive future mailings in connection with this method of lead generation or opt-out.  The contact information is shared with Members and used to contact the User if or when requested.  Demographic and profile data may also be collected on this Website on an aggregate basis, but it does not indicate the identity of individual users.

IP Addresses

An IP address is a number automatically assigned to a computer whenever it accesses the Internet.  All computers on the Internet are identified by an IP address, which allow computers and servers to recognize and communicate with each other.  This Website collects IP addresses for certain housekeep and administrative functions.  When a User fills a form on this Website, the User's IP address is recorded along with the form information. To maintain User anonymity, SOLC will only use the IP addresses to identify any User who refuses to comply with SOLC rules or the Terms of Service, and to identify Users who threaten our service, site, or others.

Public Forums

SOLC on this website may host directly or indirectly and provide links to chat rooms, forums, message boards and/or news groups for our User.  Any information disclosed in these areas becomes by default public information so great caution is mandatory when disclosing personal information.

Registration

Users may choose to Opt-in so as to receive future mailings and other information by supplying only a name and email address.  Registration via a Guestbook will require Users to provide additional contact information. This personal information is used to contact the User when necessary or customize content of the e-zine or weekly newsletter.  Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site. We use this data to tailor the User's experience at our site, showing the User content that reflects their stated preferences. This information will be shared with our Members when specific request are made  or to advertisers on an aggregate basis without individual Users identity.  Users may Opt-out of receiving future mailings.

Security

SOLC on this Website stores personal information on The Secure Connection server with security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information on SOLC servers.  No monetary transaction are currently completed on this website nor are there plans to do so.

SOLC on this website gives Members and/or Users the opportunity to Opt-in to receive communications from us and other Members at the point where we include a form to request information about the Member and/or User.  SOLC also gives users the following options for removing their information from our database in order to stop receiving communications from SOLC or our service.
