The Spirit of South Oldham Lions

|
|
This spirit is not a
tangible something, but it is a real factor in the history of South Oldham. It
is a people believing in and working for an ideal. It is often a labor of love,
it embodies the endeavors of parents to provide better schools for their
children than they themselves enjoyed, it is the church congregations, the
athletic programs for our youth, the projects of civic minded clubs, the
volunteers in the fire and rescue services, the officials of our cities,
together for a common goal. It represents the spirit of the community, the
heart and beliefs of the people.
That spirit is composed of
a mixture of cooperation and courage, of determination and daring, of dreaming
and doing, and is as much a part of the community as the structures and
facilities we enjoy in the community.
The South Oldham Lions
Club is proud to have been an active participant in the history of south Oldham
these past forty years.
May we always
carry this Spirit with us as the South Oldham Lions Club continues to serve in
the creation of the future history of South Oldham.
